the rich people and playoffs and my hair... catching up

The Rich People had me house sit. I was extremely bored with a billion television channels, unlimited internet, and a huge kitchen. I was entertained for a while, but generally spent most of my time either sleeping or playing with the dog.

The Playoffs are here and it's Sabres hockey time. I've gone to Party in the Plaza. I've gone to a few bars to watch. I even got food poisoning from one restaurant. That's sortof how this playoff series has been for me. We're 2-1 losing to the bruins. Tonight is game four and I feel like a Viking.

HAIR OH MY! I am weaning myself off of Shampoo and conditioner. For shits and giggles. It's a mixture of Baking soda on the scalp and Apple Cider Vinegar for the rest of your hair. I love my hair. In fact, i'm deeming it NEW hair. It's beautiful hair. I'm telling everyone and I'm going to make them touch it.

Seriously. NEW hair.

  1. Now... how on Earth am I going to touch your new hair from here? What made you decide to use the mixture you're using and what are the benefits of doing that as opposed to using the usual shampoos?

  2. I can find the page for more specifics, but the short version:

baking soda is a gentle cleanser that does not strip the hair of natural oils. ((it does take oil, grease, grime out, just not stripping the hair)). The A.C. Vinegar is a natural moisturizer/conditioner.

Regular shampoos and conditioners are very harsh chemically, not safe for your body or the environment, and expensive. They also add a lot of unnecessary things.

I love my hair. it's taken a week or so to balance out, and i'm still working with mixtures. I'm using less baking soda than i did before, trying to keep to 2 tablespoons. I'm also using less AC Vinegar, with more water. I've also reversed my actions in application.

The website I received my info from recommended that I start on the top/back of my head and work circularly around. I work on the outer ring of my scalp inward. it just works better IMO.

medically, I used to have a very itchy scalp and dandruff. My hair was unmanageable. That's all done. the only "bad" thing I have is that, when i used shampoos, I didn't have to brush my hair every day. This new one I do.
